Case study for FLOURISH, a multi-sector collaboration of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs)

The University of Bristol and Bristol City Council wanted a way to simplify and explain the cutting-edge work they were doing for CAVs. They asked us to create a case study around their work, which both showcased what they’d done and educated others. It was a great project to bring to life.

Visualising new technologies can be a challenge and we needed to work closely with the team at the University of Bristol to find a way we could make the content more digestible.

We decided that 3D animation was the best method, because it allowed us to reconstruct and populate real Bristol streets, and visually demonstrate the interaction of the driverless cars and connected elements.

Meet Phil. You might find him in funny shoes, wearing a hard hat or sporting silky lycra. Phil is what we affectionately call in the industry, a ‘bike guy’. Phil cut his teeth making films for the bicycle industry, he’s forgotten more about filming 2 wheels than most of us will ever know.

Phil brings a wealth of agency experience as a producer, camera and editor.

Alex Duncan

Filmmaker

Alex is fresh-faced from the Big Smoke. In the end, Bristol’s laid-back, coffee-sipping and cider-guzzling culture proved too much of a draw (it gets them all).
Like a clock, his last job involved a lot of Tik-Tok but he’s also a master with a good story.
Multi-talented, you’ll find him out on shoots and in the studio editing.

Adam’s our partner photographer extraordinaire. He works in editorial and commercial.

He’s a ninja on shoots, there’s not a loose flash or stray lens hood anywhere to be found.

He works seamlessly in the background with the video team until it’s his turn to step up and then captures beautiful images.
