TV and paid social media campaign.
City Cruises London (Hornblower) commissioned us to produce a hero advert for TV as well as online and social media films for a paid digital campaign. We could only film during active service times on-board, which would mean a lot of public in the background. But we’re not shy of a little logistical challenge!
They wanted to create a set of films to complement their global photographic campaign, but also to showcase City Cruises London in its own right. The campaign films were designed to drive awareness of the sightseeing and dining tours on offer, and would also be used in upper-funnel awareness.
Our idea was to capture ‘a day in the life’ of a City Cruise boat, from a family sightseeing morning through to afternoon tea, pre-dinner drinks and ending with a decadent evening meal.
The solution of how to work around a busy dining service came from lots of rigorous planning and a tight schedule. We had actors and models hopping on and off the boat at specific times all along the Thames, sometimes having only ten minutes to capture the perfect shot without real customers in the background.
We’re pleased to report that normal service continued unaffected, we managed to keep our heads above water and create a great film.
